Toronto Election 2026: Meet Toronto Centre Council Candidate Morgan Harris

19 October 2026 / by Mia Johnson

Morgan Harris is one of 11 candidates running for city council in Toronto Centre in Toronto’s upcoming municipal election.

The current Allan Gardens Food Bank Director, Harris said there’s a disconnect between council’s decision-making and what’s happening on the streets of Toronto. Increasing the availability of transitional housing, maintaining public spaces and prioritizing crisis interventions are just some of the promises this candidate is making should he be elected as Toronto Centre’s next city councillor.

As affordability remains top of mind for voters, Harris puts forward a plan for increasing the availability of supportive and transitional housing and explains why the city should be moving away from building more shelter infrastructure. Harris formally served as a member of the Board of Directors at the Daily Bread Food Bank.

Chris Moise, who is vying for a second term, made a clean sweep last election with 6,517 votes. This year, Moise faces strong progressive challengers and must win the trust of the many more registered. Toronto Centre added 17,512 new voters, according to Liaison Strategies latest findings. While every ward has more electors, looking at the neighbouring Spadina Fort-York voters’ list, the two downtown wards account for more than 20 per cent of the city’s net increase.

Election day is Oct. 26 from 10 a.m. to 8p.m.
