Toronto Election 2026: Meet Toronto Centre Council Candidate Chris Moise

19 October 2026 / by Mia Johnson

After four years representing Ward 13, Chris Moise is hoping to keep his seat in Toronto’s upcoming municipal election.

Given the chance to return for another term, the former police officer and addictions counsellor said he would continue to challenge the province on supervised consumption site closures, and prioritize housing projects in the ward. Moise has chaired the Toronto Public Board of Health since 2022.

Moise won by nearly half the vote last election with 6,517 votes. An estimated 17,512 new residents have entered the ward since, according to Liaison Strategies latest findings. While every ward has more electors, looking at the neighbouring Spadina Fort-York voters’ list, the two downtown wards account for more than 20 per cent of the city’s net increase.

One of Moise’s biggest competition is political newcomer Curran Stikuts who was recently endorsed by Toronto Centre MPP Kristyn Wong-Tam. The former councillor previously supported Moise’s run in 2022. The two candidates share similar progressive platforms.

Election day is Oct. 26 from 10a.m. to 8p.m.
