Eric Sorenson is a Toronto-based singer-songwriter and a fervent proponent of live local music. He is co-organizer of the Toronto Songwriters Café, host of a monthly open mic series, and occasional co-host of Song Talk Radio on the Scope at Ryerson.

 

Toronto band Beams bring a fresh and full folk-rock sound which makes it clear that this is a band to get excited about. See them live at the Dakota Tavern on May 9 for Canadian Music Week.

 

Come home to the melodic sounds of Toronto’s own Birds of Bellwoods at their CMW performance on May 8th at Burdock Music Hall.

 

The duo of Liv and Anita Cazzola take understated harmony to new heights. Catch them play their latest single Home for the Weekend at their CMW showcase at The Cave (@ Lee’s Palace) on May 7 at 9pm.   

 

Catch some sweet electronic grooves from Toronto’s Blitz Berlin as the experimental group scores a CMW showcase at the Drake on Friday May 8 at 8pm.

 

As a producer, the Canadian music legend has worked with everyone from Brian Eno and Neil Young to U2 and Willie Nelson. He’ll be performing his own material Friday May 1 live at the Horsehoe Tavern.
