From November 6 to 12, Met Radio is holding our annual Fund Drive to raise funds to support creative live programming at the station.
At Met Radio, we believe in being a training ground for the next generation of community radio-makers. Providing volunteers who are passionate about community radio with a range of programming and skill-building opportunities has always been a primary focus of ours.
After a few years of broadcasting from home, 2023 marks the first full year of resuming normal operations at the station. As part of this year’s fund drive, we’re reintroducing LIVE broadcasting to the station and encouraging volunteers to take this next step in our newly renovated studios!
The goal of this program is to support programmers as they build the skills and confidence to return to broadcasting their shows LIVE and to inspire more of our community members to get involved with live radio.
This year’s fund drive will kick off with a week full of LIVE ON AIR blocks hosted by current Met Radio programmers and volunteers. Tune in from Monday to Friday at 1280 AM or listen live through our website to check out all the fun programming happening on air!
Following the week of fund drive, we plan to offer additional training-focused, in-studio workshops for programmers, volunteers, and community members. Throughout the month of November, we’ll be using funds raised during the drive to run workshops focused on a number of live radio skills: live band sessions, news anchoring, and DJing.
Thank you for listening, sharing, and supporting!
