Downtown Campus Radio Raising Funds For Community Projects
Representing and documenting voices of the community has always been a top priority for CJRU. The stories and works of local creatives, community members, and volunteers are what make our broadcast possible. After two years of broadcasting at home, CJRU is looking to give back and get back out into the community.
From October 1-8, CJRU is raising funds to launch the Re: Connect program that will begin later this fall. This initiative will emphasize CJRU’s hands-on involvement within the community. CJRU is looking forward to uniting local sounds with the community by presenting live concerts around the city and hosting free community workshops for anyone to attend.
“I think that it’s essential that we reach out and give back to the community in any way that we can — as more than just a radio station,” said Fundraising Coordinator Christophe Couttolenc.
This year’s fund drive will kick off with the return of CJRU’s 24 Hour Radio Challenge.
