Saukrates, a.k.a Karl Amani Wailoo, released his fourth studio album Season 2 on November 17, 2017. The Toronto-based rapper and producer has collaborated artists such as Kardinal Offishall, SonReal, K-OS, Nelly Furtado, Skratch Bastid, Classified, Redman, and Method Man. Season 2 is an album that is part anthem to Toronto and to the everyday grind. The album features Kardinal Offishall and SonReal.

The self-titled track “Season 2” starts off with a special shout-out to the late King Reign, a Toronto-based rapper who passed away in June 2016 and has killer lyrics accompanied with old-school hip-hop beats. Saukrates also gives a shout-out to his good friend K-OS. The track is a motivational track as the title suggests big things are coming to those who work their butts off.

“Jays Fitted” is also one of the tracks featured in the new album. When you think of Jays Fitted, you think of the baseball hats. In reality, the song is an anthem and an ode to Toronto from its sports teams to its multiculturalism.

Saukrates is proof that he is one of Toronto’s powerhouses in the hip-hop scene, having a resume of collaborating with well-known Canadian artists and spinning out four studio albums.

Season 2 is available online on Spotify and on iTunes.
