CJRU reporter Jacob Dubé brings you his top 3 must-see plays for Fringe 2015. Check our website for Jacob’s ongoing coverage of Fringe over the next couple weeks, including reviews and interviews with from the fest.
1. The Untitled Sam Mullins Project
This piece is a one-man show by Vancouver comedian Sam Mullins. Featured on the popular This American Life program, he’s been called “a master storyteller.” This performance will feature Mullins telling the stories of his four “truths.”
2. Sloanliness
Comedian Dan Hershfield recalls how we befriended his hero, musician Chris Murphy of Sloan, and how he subsequently folded under the pressure. Expect some awkwardly funny moments.
3. My Big Fat German Puppet Show
The puppet-stand-up-cabaret show presented by Frank Meschkuleit has won the Just For Laughs “Best Comedy of the Fringe Award.” This show looks to be an eccentric uproar of comedy.
