Let’s dance! Electric Island festival is back and better than ever. While the festival will be happening all summer long, the season opener is set to kick off on May 19. Celebrate the start of the festival season while enjoying the beautiful Toronto skyline from Hanlan’s Point. The line up for the first day includes Dubfire, Bedouin and DJ Minx on the main stage.
Dubfire has established himself as an electronic musician in a league of his own. It’s hard to keep track of his many accomplishments including performing at some of the top festivals in the world such as Coachella and creating an innovative live show that takes advantage of audio and video technology.
Combining their experience of travelling the world, their Middle Eastern background and growing up in the west, Tamer Malki and Rami Abousabe of Bedouin work together to make music that is ever evolving while being consistently enjoyable.
DJ Minx is one of the most prominent female DJs in the business. To add to her many credentials, she founded Women on Wax in 1996 which is a collective of female DJs in the Detroit area. Since the year 2000, DJ Minx has been playing shows all over world including New York, Berlin and Tokyo.
Many other amazing artists are set to perform including DJ Sneak, DJ Deeon and Johnathan Rosa to name a few. If you can’t make it out to the season opener there are four more shows this season on June 22, August 10 and August 11.
