Last fall, CJRU raised funds to launch the “Your Story Here: Radio Production Mentorship” and we’re excited to officially begin the mentorship on Tuesday August 9th! Over the course of 4 weeks, 4 participants will have the chance to produce a 15-20 minute audio story that introduces the world to who they are as individuals. Participants will create their stories by recording and compiling a variety of sounds including: interviews, monologues, anecdotes, creative writing pieces, field recordings and more. Stories will then be edited and aired on CJRU 1280 AM!
Creative writers of all experience levels are welcome to apply to the mentorship which will take place in-person at our station’s downtown Toronto studio.

As a part of our fundraising efforts to make this mentorship a reality, we invited our show hosts to “test drive” the mentorship program and create their own audio stories documenting their lives.
