Most youth don’t go to the polls — advocates want to change that
Ontario will be headed to the polls again on Feb. 27 after Progressive Conservative Leader Doug Ford’s call for an early election.
While speculation continues on whether or not the Ford government’s gamble will pay off, one voting demographic could very likely sway the entire election— young Ontarians.
Millennials and Gen Z are the largest voting demographic in the province, making up nearly half of the potential voting population. In recent years, youth voter turnout dropped dramatically.
