Cold snap — Toronto braces for coldest temperatures so far this winter

Toronto is biting its tongue in preparation for a sharp cold snap next week, as a polar cortex sweeps across the city, sending temperatures plummeting to the coldest we’ve seen all season.

Environment and Climate Change Meteorologist Trudy Kidd says temperatures could feel as cold as -30 C on Monday with the wind chill.

This comes after Canada’s warmest winter on record where temperatures were averaging 5.2 C higher over a three month period from December to February.

Kidd shares why temperatures will be dropping sharply and how long Toronto can expect the cold to persist.
