A new 12-storey residential high-rise at 591 Finch Ave. W., near Finch Avenue and Bathurst Street, is now under construction and is set to move in 158 new seniors who are facing physical, mental or economic difficulties.
This project received funding from the city’s Open Doors Affordable Housing Program. Launched in 2016, — where non-profit and private housing organizations may utilize under-developed city-land for the development of purpose-built rental homes.
Sionito Group of Charities is the developer for 591 Finch Ave. W. The charity’s founder Bryce Taylor joins CJTM News at the construction site, where the group officially broke ground on Thursday, to tell us why this infrastructure is so critical for seniors.
